PBS

this is the kind of music you might stumble upon fumbling around the tv dial back in the seventies and eighties when you click on PBS and there is a band performing jazz that stops you from changing the channel. the music is new, engaging, emotional, groovy and so well performed that it draws you in to the moment. it creates a safe little nook you can curl up in and take respite from the troubles of the world.

Brocken Spectre

most of the time a Brocken spectre, also called a Brocken bow, mountain spectre, or spectre of the Brocken, is the magnified giantic shadow of an observer cast in mid air upon any type of cloud opposite a strong light source. The figure’s head can be surrounded by a bright area called Heiligenschein, or halo-like rings of rainbow-coloured light forming a glory, which appear opposite the Sun’s direction when uniformly sized water droplets in clouds refract and backscatter sunlight. The term ‘Brocken spectre’ was coined in 1780 by Johann Silberschlag, a German pastor and natural scientist who frequented the Harz mountains and observed the affect for the first time atop Brocken, the range’s highest peak.
this time though, it refers to a trancey techno mix that aims straight for the center of the Heiligenschein.
