on the heels of summer comes the latest edition of the Summer Crush series and the sixteenth anniversary mixtape for dj luv’s records. this collection of mid sixties rock ‘n’ soul continues the themes of lovin’, dancin’, huggin’, squeezin’ and groovin’ good times of previous editions. the mixes from this series were the ones my parents enjoyed the most. they are both gone now and i miss them everyday. i hope wherever they are they can feel these luv vibrations and get their groove on.

“bodywork” is understood as paid work performed on the bodies of others. the term emerges from studies on nursing and care work but has been expanded to include massage, alternative therapies and sex work. all of these professions rely on physical contact. djs perform a non-contact form of bodywork using their skills of playing and mixing music to elicit a specific and collective bodily response.

well here we are, the 500th mixtape in the series of luv. for the occasion I have prepared a mix of music that i deem, for one reason or another, to be beautiful. attached to these diverse selections are wonderful memories and i am compelled to spread the luv.
thanks for listening. i will keep up my vigilance in the battle against main stream corporate culture’s enshitification algorithms by continuing to put up amazing, interesting and downright groovy music for all; as time allows. with so much good music to share i feel blessed with another morning.
