20 Minutes Into The Future

here’s a conceptual mix about the “sound of the 1980s” that has been brewing since the SYNTAX ERA began. it’s that brand new synth sound palette that emerge in the late 70s and dominated the soundscape of the following decade. preset orchestral hits, gated drums, vocoder voices, the cleanest distorted guitar sounds you’ve ever heard, analog crashing into digital; a sound so unmistakably eighties. this is an immersive event so prepare yourself; you may come out the other end with A Flock Of Seagulls haircut wearing shoulder pads craving “new” Coke and scrounging in your pockets for quarters so you can hit the arcade. cue dramatic intro.

Clinging To Stars

it was the 1930’s and the US was in a Great Depression. money was tight, jobs were scarce and the country was running on empty. at the time popular music oscillated between reflecting on the reality of the situation and an uncontrollable urge to forget it and think about better days. keep in mind these recordings are 80 years old so the fidelity between songs may vary.
