Liquid Sound Dimensions

artificial intelligence creating patterns & textures on liquid television for our come down pleasure. a sound that enveloped us in the early nineties as the Interchill brothers (UK & France), Gnat, Twin Peetz & Wig spun out the future while we melted into couches and rolled another joint. too up to be down and too down to be up. the atmosphere when we returned after the after party to a chill out room curated by our buddy Steve (pkls 4 ever), giving us a soft place to crash land, embraced in dawn’s twilight, wasted on Coloniale.

They Call Me Sweet Daddy Rollin’ Stone

remember the good old days? way back in the early fifties when everything was wholesome and good, before rock’n’roll took over the youth and steered our country to ruin. this collection of music from the years 1951 to 1954 contains a healthy dose of rhythm & blues and country & western with a smattering of jazz, calypso & Latin sounds. i hope you enjoy these wholesome sides, feel free to use them as a buffer to the lewd & crass times we find ourselves in.

luv397 Well That was Fucked Up

well that was fucked up

“well that was fucked up” sums up 2020 pretty well. things felt uneasy at the end of 2019, like the cracks in the bottom of the basin were getting bigger and bigger, and things were getting heavier and heavier. something was about to give. that’s why i titled the first mixtape of last year Hold On because it felt like 2020 was gonna be a rough ride. as i started putting together 2021’s inaugural mix i intentionally chose only new music from 2020 and unintentionally created a mix that represented the crazy year that was. well that was fucked up is designed to help exorcise our collective ill feelings from 2020 by grooving them out of our system. clearing our minds and souls to help us better tackle the challenges that lay ahead. may it help you power the future.

luv396 - Townsend Family Soul

Townsend Family Soul

at the beginning of the year a family friend whose parents were moving to a smaller home, very kindly dropped off their family’s record collection. a collection that spanned decades and was full of soul, jazz, reggae, calypso, hip hop, funk, disco and r&b, as well as their family history and lots and lots of love. it was overwhelming and a little daunting; and then the pandemic came. with nothing but time i dove right in, listening and learning and really digging the music. it was a good companion during this strange year. i don’t really know how to thank the wonderful people that bestowed this gift of music, but i do know i can share it. so here’s a mix of uplifting soul music full of life and love to help us ride out the rest of this arduous year with a bounce in our step and groove in our hearts. much luv.
